Getting Satellite Basemaps to work on Marplot

If you have installed the current version of Marplot, you've probably noticed that the satellite basemap does not work.  Here is how to fix it:

Go to:

Public Documents-MarplotMaps-BasemapFiles-Settings-global.map

open global.map in notepad.  Change the following:

original:
  CONNECTION  "http://raster.nationalmap.gov/arcgis/services/Orthoimagery/USGS_EDC_Ortho_NAIP/ImageServer/WMSServer"




Edit/fixed:
  CONNECTION  "http://raster.nationalmap.gov/arcgis/services/Orthoimagery/USGS_EROS_Ortho_NAIP/ImageServer/WMSServer"

Do a trace using CMD prompt

Doing some trouble shooting on some networking and internet issues.

Some handy CMD promts:

1.  type CMD in search box when pushing windows button (Windows 7)

2.  type:  ping www.google.com -t
               (this will continually ping the address)
3.  also try typing:  tracert www.google.com
              (this will show you route your internet is taking to you computer)

Lucid Dreaming

Add and remove email accounts in Thunderbird Ubuntu

I keep forgetting how to add an account and remove and account in Thunderbird while using Ubuntu 12.04

To add an an account, you can:

1.  Go to 'File' and 'New' mail account

or

2.  'Edit'  and 'Account Settings'.  Expand out the window if necessary.  The options to add an account are on the lower left.

To remove an account:

'Edit'  and 'Account Settings'.  Expand out the window if necessary.  The option to remove an account are on the lower left.
